Micah is 5 Months Old!!

Well, Micah is now 5 months old. Not a huge milestone-marker of a month...but, who cares!!! 5 months ago, our lives were made better by this little gift! Upon turning 5 months old, Micah has now learned how to roll over from his tummy to his back (and has almost rolled the other way several times, too), he experienced his first really big snow day (12 inches), he started chewing on his feet, and he started eating rice cereal the day he turned 5 months old!!

Since the last time Micah saw the doctor, he has had a little drop in the rate that he was gaining weight. I told the doctor on the first visit we had, that Micah spit up...a lot!! He said that since he was not having trouble gaining weight, he did not want to rush into putting him on medication. I completely agree. I don't want anything going into his body that does not need to. However, this last visit he saw quite a drop in his weight percentile and went ahead and got Micah started on some medicine for reflux. I can honestly say that he does not have it near as bad as some other kids...I've heard some messy stories. But, hopefully this will help. His doctor also said that if he seemed ready, we could go ahead and start him on cereal because that usually helps with the reflux, too.

We knew Micah was ready....he's been eyeing our food for weeks now...wondering how to get ahold of some for himself. So, last Friday he had his first bites. He was so fun to watch! He was diving forward to try and get to the spoon before we could bring it to him!!! He's nothing like his big brother...Jonas was not a happy camper when it came to starting food.

So, we're looking forward to what the next month will hold for our little man. I'm hoping that the medicine and cereal (no other foods until at least 6 months) will help. He has not had as much tummy time as I would like for him to have because I did not want him constantly spitting up. So, hopefully he'll get some more practice in for when the time comes for him to crawl!

See you all next month!!
