The Things I Love About Micah
I love how he is his own unique person. At first glance, so many people say that he looks just like his brother...but to me and Ryan, we see Micah...his own, distinct features.
I love how even though he is unique, I see so many of the people that I love in him. I see Ryan's eyes and cheeks, his ma-ma's chin, and my favorite about him....his ears!!! His ears stick out just a little bit....I think he got that from my mom and grandpa Hassel.
I loves his big smiles.
I love the way his laughs when I get his tickle spot...it's right underneath his chin.
I love his sweet baby breath.
I love when he's excited he squawks in the back of his throat...we call it "The Micah." He also has started making another noise when he's excited, and it sounds like a fake sneeze...I love it!
I love the way he looks at me and Ryan like we are the most important people in the world.
I love how his favorite spot right now is on his changing table. He especially loves it after a bath. (Video to follow, due to technical difficulties.)
I love that he knows my voice.
I love how he likes to rub his face against something before he falls asleep. When he's in his swing, he rubs it up agains the head padding, in bed next to me, he rubs his face into my arm, and now in his own bed, he rubs his face against the mattress before finally turning in.
I love how his little head bobbles right now as he looks at the world.
I love that he is so facinated with his big brother. He gets a lot of entertainment out of watching him.
I love how David Crowder Band's song, "How He Loves" will always remind me of a special bonding moment between me and Micah.
I love how he knows exactly when the camera turns on and he stops performing, so that mom and dad look like we have no idea what we are doing.
I love how he also likes to watch "Veggie Tales."
I love the way he takes his pacifier out of his mouth so that he can shove his hands in instead.
I love how different he is from Jonas and we get to learn about his own personality.
I love how he likes it when his daddy reads to him. He gets very excited and talks, alot. (Video to follow, due to technical difficulties.)
I love how he can sleep through all of Jonas' noise (most of the time).
I love when he grabs my fingers...and does not let go.
I love how he likes to look at himself in the mirror. He gets so excited, smiles, then turns away. Then he does it again, over and over.
I love his coos.
I love his little, blonde eyelashes. They are starting to curl.
I love when he falls asleep in my arms at night. This really is the only time I get to cuddle with him. He's not a big cuddler...I think there's too much action going on and he always wants to see it.
I love the way that he kicks his legs after a bath.
I love the way he always pounds his right fist down on things.
I love it when he talks to his "friend" in the mirror on his playmat and how excited he gets when he grabs one of the toys on his playmat.
I love the way he smells...all of the time.
I love his little patch of dark, thick hair at the bottom of his head.
I love his chubby thighs.
I love the way he is figuring out how to blow spit bubbles.
I love that he found his feet in his swing the other night and now he keeps squirming his body down in the swing so that he can see his feet some more.
There are so many more things....I think of something new everytime I look at him. We are so greatly blessed. I was just talking to a friend about when we found out I was pregnant with Micah. We had to take Jonas to the hospital the night before because he had a 105 degree temp. It turned out to be roseola. But, a nurse came in to take a chest x-ray and asked me if there was a chance I could be pregnant. At first I thought, no way. But, then I thought a little more and thought...well, better safe than sorry, because with God, all things are possible. The next day....we found out for sure! At first, it was difficult for me to come to grasp with, especially with a 10 1/2 month old. But now....I would not change anything about how things "worked out."
Yes, I'm in love, again! His name is Micah.

Happy New Year! Micah is 3 months old!
When we got home from Houston, Micah turned 3 months on the 5th. He's getting bigger. There's a new sound in our house, and I call it "The Micah." He has a very particular squeak he makes in the back of his throat when he's happy. I plan to use it for the rest of my life!!!
Now, I know I'm a little late in my post, so some of his stats are a little more recent than his actual 3 month birthday...but, that's okay. Here they are:
Weight--12lb. 10oz. (between 10-25 percentile)
Length--25 in. (75th percentile)
Words--Not yet...but he's working on it. He likes to talk, a lot!
Feedings--6-7 a day (bring on the rice cereal in a couple of months)
Hours of sleep at night--around 8-9 (much better than last month)
Hands--Always in his mouth, forget the paci
Feet---Just found them tonight
Eyes--Looking good. Dr. Hunt said that they are excellent and he does not think he'll have any issues in the future
Favorite position--He loves to get a diaper and clothing change. He laughs, talks, and kicks!
TV--Yup, he's found that, too. Of course, he loves Veggie Tales with big brother.
Spit ups in a day--Too many to count. We've acquired a large sum of burp clothes from friends and family.
Smiles--More than the spit ups...and that's what matters the most!!
Life is good. Our boys are wonderful (except for a temper-tantrum here and there for Jonas) and we have been so blessed! Although things were tough after Micah's arrival, with Ryan losing his job, God has definitely taken care of us. Jehovah Jireh...means God provides...and that is what He has been lately. Ryan finished his teacher prep course, put in an application in with Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD, and received a call for an interview. He interviewed on a Friday and we had to wait all weekend. On the following Tuesday, he received the call from the principal asking him if he wanted the position!! The job is for a middle school English teacher. This summer, he was prophesied over that he was a "quirky English professor." Yes, he is! Truly, this a testimony to how great God is!
So, things are about to get busy here (not that they aren't already). I start back to work next week and as soon as Ryan gets all of his things finalized with the state and the district, he'll be starting in about 2-4 weeks. I hope that you and your family are well and that the new year is off to a great start!
Enjoy the pics!

Christmas 2009
All said and done, we had good time there, but it was nice to get home. Santa found our house, even though we were away and Jonas finally received the much-needed slide. He loves his slide and he enjoys taking us to the playroom to watch him go up and down...over and over.
Click on the link below, "Flood Christmas 2009" to look at the pictures!!! I hope you all had a joyous Christmas holiday, too.
Blessings!
