Cool guy, cool hair.

Why does Turner get to go out there, and we have to stay in here?

Food, Food, and More Food

Both of the Flood guys are enjoying their food. Jonas is starting to venture out into the world of flavor and is leaving behind the bland cereals. He won't even eat his puffs and cheerios, unless they are the last thing on his tray...and even at that half end up on the floor for Turner. Turner's favorites words now are, "Turner, clean up on baby aisle."
Not only is Jonas enjoying new foods, Ryan is enjoying making new foods. He's making omlets and blueberry pancakes for Jonas. The other night he made a mixed berry pie from scratch...and it was perfect!

Hat's off to the chef!!!

Ten Months Down!!

Jonas was 10 months old yesterday...it's weird to put the word "old" in this sentence....he's not old at all! He's all over the place...crawling and trying to walk, but can't quite figure out the whole balancing thing. He's talking now, more than ever. I can only imagine how much more he'll have to say in a few more months. He still only has those 2 little, bottom teeth...which he loves to use to chew on my chin. Over a month ago, the doctor looked in his mouth and could see those top teeth buds and said, it'll be any day. Well, its been 30 and still no new teeth. I guess they'll come out someday.

On Monday, we went back to school. I teach 2 classes on Mondays, so he's there for 2 hours. He did great! He was happy to be back with his teachers and friends. They said he was all over the room and had a great time eating (and showing off) during lunch. It's crazy to think in 2 months he'll be one.

More blueberries, please!

Jonas likes blueberries so much, I'm afraid he's going to turn out like Violet Beauregarde if he's not careful! As soon as he sees them, he goes crazy! But, I guess that's okay, since they are a superfruit! They're a great source of fiber (highly needed for this little guy), vitamin C and B6, plus they've been believed to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. The best thing about him eating them (besides the already mentioned) is the little sound he makes. He sounds like he's eating the best tasting thing in the whole world. It's so cute!

From there to here

Well, we talked for a while about moving our "Oven Broadcast" to a blog page...and months later...here we are! Hopefully, we will be able to better update with our lives and thoughts. We hope you enjoy the new site and as always be sure to leave your thoughts as well.

Love, Joy & Blessings

Our little man

It's crazy to look back at the pictures of Jonas. He's only 9 months old and he has changed in so many ways. Last night, Ryan and I watched some video clips of when he was just born and when he was just a few months old. It's amazing how much he has learned to do, so far. From laying completely helpless in our arms to squirming out of them so that he can practice crawling and pulling himself up, man...it's almost too fast. Yet, it's so exciting at the same time. I know that those of you with children are nodding your head in agreement....so many of you have already told us how fast time goes by. I guess it does....but at the same time it doesn't. Ryan and I have been reminded that we are to enjoy THIS day, the day that we are given....for we are not promised tomorrow. So, with that said...I'm okay with looking back and saying..."where did the time go?", because I know that for THIS day, I am going to live it to the fullest and love Him that gave me this day, and this man and this baby that I've been given to share it with.
