Cookie Monster

Ryan made chocolate chip cookies last night....and created a monster in the process (read his blog page: incuriousthought.blogspot.com to see how it all started)! Everytime Jonas would come into the kitchen, he would start saying "yum yum." It did not take him long before figuring out that the cookies came from the "big black thing" in the kitchen. He would go to the oven and look in at his beloved cookies and wait....impatiently. And, yes...all of this was happening around 9 o'clock at night. :)

Then, this morning, when we woke up...the first thing he said when we walked out into the kitchen and he saw the remains of last night's work station, he said...again, "yum, yum." Of course, I could not help myself either (blame it on the pregnacy...or just my sweet tooth), but we shared a cookie. But, he now knew where the cookies were being stored....so, about 5 minutes later...he made his trek into the kitchen and pointed and showed me where the cookies were...saying, "cookie, cookie" over and over. Thankfully, the camera was right there so that I could capture the cookie moment....or should I say, the cookie monster!

There the are!

Come on! How do I open this thing?

Alright...I'll just wait here.

That's where they were last night.....

....but, now.....

....that's where they are! Give me cookie!!

A Couple of First's.....

....well, kind of. We took Jonas to his first baseball game last week, but we did not even make it to our seats. Mother Nature was the winner that night. (That's probably what we get since we took him to a Ranger's game first, instead of an Astro's game----even though our hometown team is in 1st place losing position). Oh, well. We did get a rain check, so we'll eventually make it back to see the Ranger's play. Instead, we hung out in a concession booth and Jonas made friends with all of the people that worked there. He even helped me get a free, second helping of nachos. (Please, no comments...trust me, we're not exploiting our child.) We tried to stick it out, hoping to see some baseball, but the game was eventually called. It took them a long time to call it, though. What a night...and an adventure!
Ranger field....covered up.
New Cowboy stadium....and few ominous looking clouds.

Brothers don't shake hands...brothers gotta hug!
On Sunday afternoon, we took Jonas to get his first snowcone. At first, he was not sure what it was. But, with each bite, he really seemed to enjoy this frozen treat a litte more. He had a fun time pointing out birds, planes and dogs to us....and later, the huge duck that is behind him. We had a great time! I'm glad he likes snowcones. This is going to be a hot summer for me....and snowcones may become my favorite treat before too long!
First bite....coconut....ymmmm!

Let's have another....

Yeah...this stuff is good.

More!

That was sooo good!

Introducing.......

Micah Jeffrey Flood!!!

Micah means "Who is like the Lord?" Something that is so important to our family.
Jeffrey means "Peace" and it is Ryan's middle name

We went to the doctor last Friday and had another ultrasound done. Our littlest one is doing great. We watched his heart working (we could see all 4 chambers pumping away), looked at his diaphram, and checked out every-other-part of his body that you could imagine. Of couse, the ultrasound tech confirmed one more time that it was definitely a boy. He was measuring to be about a pound.

On a personal note...this baby is a lot more active than Jonas was. I don't know if it's because he is the second and I am more in tuned to everything...or if it's just him. But, he moves....a lot! During the ultrasound, the tech would freeze the screen to take a measurement of something and then when she would turn the picture back on, Micah would have done a summersault and was the facing the opposite direction. She even acknowledged that he was a busy boy!!

We had a great time getting to see him. We hope to do another 3D/4D when I'm a little further along, like we did with Jonas.

As for Jonas, we've been talking about the word "baby" and showing him little babies when we are out and about. It's funny, because he will sometimes point to kids that are much older than he is and he'll say "baby" with such excitement. He does pat my stomach and says "baby"....but that's just because we've done that and he's just repeating what we're doing. It will be more of a reality when the "baby" comes home with us. But, he is such a wonderful little boy....we know he will be an amazing big brother!

Hey there!!
Just hanging out.

So cute.

Doing sommersaults.

Yep.

Look Who's Talking...and Walking...and Swimming!

We had a great Memorial Day weekend. We got out into our little backyard pool (the community pool is still too cold) and Jonas had his first popcicle. He did not know what to make of it first...but once he figured it out...it was hard to get him to share.

Last Thursday, he finally decided he did not need to hold our hands anymore to walk. He's been going ever since. We actually went to Chuck E Cheese that night for a birthday party and he had a blast walking around everywhere. He has even already figured out how to stand back up own his own after he falls down. Watch out world.....here he comes!!!

Sedona and The Grand Canyon

We had a great time on our trip to Sedona, Flagstaff, and The Grand Canyon. I won't bore you will too many details, since I did add on soooooo many pictures. They can tell the story. One thing I will say, though is that Jonas did wonderful!!! He actually took his first (independent) steps and he did great on the planes. Such a good baby. He loved spending time with his Mimi and Popi so much, that he actually prefered them to me and Ryan. That's okay...it was a good bonding time for them! I hope you enjoy the pictures!!
